Lord Shiva, one of the three main deities in the Hindu Trinity, is the destroyer and transformer. Lord Shiva's form of destruction comes with the power of purification, as it destroys the ego, the illusion of individuality, helping us to shed old habits and attachments. Shiva also represents the most absolute form of meditation.
At the Ramakrishnananda Yoga Vedanta Center, we will worship Lord Shiva by bathing the Shiva Lingam, his unborn form that represents the male creative energy.
