is Holiness Sri Srimad Tamal Krishna Goswami is one of the
much respected instructional masters, or siksha gurus, of Swami
Ramakrishnananda. His disciples call him "Gurudeva", and among his
spiritual brothers he is known as "Goswami". His Holiness Sri
Srimad Tamal Krishna Goswami was born in New York, USA, on June,
1946.
Since 1968, He became a very close disciple of the great
spiritual acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada. In 1972 he accepted from his master the renounced order
of life, sannyas. He dedicated his life to serve his guru maharaja
within the organization he had founded, ISKCON, the International
Society for Krishna Consciousness.
In 1996 he personally visited the Ramakrishnananda Yoga Vedanta
Mission Ashram; there, in front of all the disciples of Swami
Ramakrishnananda, he accepted him as siksha disciple, giving him
guidance and valuable instruction in the path of bhakti, especially
according to the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition.
He lived his life totally absorbed in service to his spiritual
master and Krishna, and left his body on March 2002 in Phulgya,
Bengala, India.
"I am so much happy that Swami Ramakrishnananda is doing such an
ashram here ... I think Swami Ramakrishnananda did a very good
service by making this temple ... I can also see that all the
students are getting nice training. We should try to spread the
teachings of Yoga as far as possible, and if there is any way that
I can be of assistance to you I should be very happy to do so ...
Swami Ramakrishnananda has requested to become my disciple
(siksha). I am very happy about that ... and I have accepted him as
such ...
I hope he will be training all of you very nicely so you can also
become advanced in yoga and Krishna Consciousness ..."
