What is life? Do not try to confine it to a dictionary definition...
Any attempt to define it will be futile, just as any effort to confine its meaning to a doctrine or a philosophy will be fruitless...
Life is not a static object to be defined... It is not a dogma to be confined within a doctrine... It is not a scientific concept to be explained with a theory, nor is it a belief to be included within certain religion...
Life is not an ideology...
Life cannot be limited to a theory...
These are only different ways to miss life... to continue to extend our illusory separation from it...
To miss life is to start to think and theorize about it...
Life is to be lived, because life is a flow, a process, an uninterrupted current... Life is not something static. It is not a thing, an object...
Only by living it, shall you realize what it is... because life is not an invention or a creation of ours. We are waves of this flow, sparks of this fire of life. We are waves of the ocean of existence... mamaivāṁ śo jīva loke jīva bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ...
Yoga is the consciousness of the union between the particles of existence and their origin. Live in such a way that your life leads to a reunion with life... with existence...
Separated from life, you only know how to grow old... to wear out... like a chair, or a car... Growing old belongs to objects. It is not to really live...
Live your life in such a way that it will not be "your life", but will be "life living through you"... Let life, in its totality, live through you...
In order to be united with life it is necessary that you stop living it according to your old patterns of behavior, according to your acquired ways, or according to the past...
If you continue living according to your acquired patterns, according to your conditioning, you will think that you are living, but in actuality you will be only reacting...
To react is to live from the past, from memory...
Life is to live, to be living, but to live only in the now...
That is, you can live only when you are capable of situating yourself in the now...
The meaning of the word yoga is union... Many explain that it has to do with the union between all the different aspects of the human being... I agree with that...
Others explain that it is the union of the soul with God... I agree with that...
However, for me, yoga, first of all, is the consciousness of our union with existence... the consciousness of our eternal union with life... the consciousness of being the Whole, the Totality...
Our union with existence needs to develop strong roots, meaning that we have to grow into the depths, searching into the very origin of life, of ourselves, of existence... Separation is to grow only upwards, but with very tiny roots...
This realization is yoga... and that is our eternal duty... sanātana—dharma... to realize and to be what you really are...
Life does not require a place to reach, but a direction. To live is to search, therefore it requires passion...
This is the reason why a real master does not give us goals. What he gives us instead is a passion... a passion to search...
Because life does not require goals or ideals, but passion...
Because to live is not to understand something, nor to achieve something, it is not to reach any place. To live is about feeling...
If you desire to lose life completely, look around and try to find its meaning in theories and doctrines...
Life... Existence... Reality... are synonyms of Brahman... synonyms of God...

In the Bhagavad—gita (15.1) Krishna says to Arjuna:
"There is a banyan tree that has its roots upward and its branches down and whose leaves are the Vedic hymns. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas."
To die is to become old... to live is to grow... to develop yourself... to evolve...
To live is to develop yourself... to develop yourself into the depths... to truly live is when your roots are growing deeper into every moment, searching for the very origin of life...
This is meditation...
To live and to grow is not to reject life, but to be less a body, and everyday more and more a being...
Bodily desires make you, more and more, simply a body... and the body dies...
To be is to become a Being... only then shall you drink the nectar of immortality...
We are a tree that has its roots growing upwards. To live is to grow and to develop, while inserting our roots within the depths of the sky...
It is to know how to descend into the depths of ourselves, because to live is to dig up into the heights...
