The master of masters, the awakened among men, he who we are not worthy to even eat the crumbs that fall from his plate, decided to stop and sit at the roadside. Seated in peace, he allowed himself to go into a deep Samadhi; his Being came into communion with the Whole.
Then, a thief went by and upon seeing the sage he thought — "No doubt, this man is a thief and a scoundrel who had just robbed travelers on their way, and now, all tired and fatigued, he sat down on this road and feel asleep. Well! I'd better be off before the police come looking for him and take me away as well." And with this in mind the thief hurried away from the place.
Sometime later a drunkard passed by. Barely walking, he meandered here and there until his eyes fell on the yogi seated by the side of the road. He stared at him blankly for a moment and then mumbled to himself, "This one is so drunk he can't even move... the bottle made him sleep so much..." and with that, he staggered away from the place.
By and by other people passed, and some thought the yogi was a lazy beggar.
Eventually, a sincere seeker of the Truth arrived and saw the yogi; that the master of masters, the awakened among men, he who we are not worthy to even eat the crumbs that fall from his plate. He then folded his hands, and with tears in his eyes, prostrated before the yogi and kissed his feet.
