Nothing and no one in the entire universe can fill our hearts with bliss and transcendental pleasure like the holy lilas, plays and adventures of the Divine Lord Krishna. These have been manifested by the Lord for the transcendental delight of His devotees, and reading them is more a meditation than a study. It is when the omniscient and all—powerful approaches man, at the moment that the tremendous infinite is closer to you; it will look more finite and limited than ever, and that is the vision of a person who was blessed with the caress of the transcendental.
When our father leans over to pat or play with us, he looks so close, so... like us. We heard numerous times, people from all religions, saying God loves us, and we accepted it. Because the impersonal obligates us so little, it is so easy to love hills, trees, man and God. Nonetheless, it is so hard for us to accept the proximity of God, of the Avatar when looking fixedly into our eyes and placing a hand on our shoulders, he says with the sweetest of voices... I love you... Still, it is our smallness and limitations that do not allow us to accept him, accepting that proximity and infinite love.
Everything is so acceptable and easy, as long as it does not touch our souls and lives. It is so convenient to believe in what seems unreal to us. By reading this book He can become a part of your life. This book deals with the impossible, but impossible only for man, not for God. God descended to our plane, not in London, Paris or New York, but in a small Indian village, Vrindavan. God dances, hugs and caresses not theologians, scholars or philosophers, but a few simple and illiterate cowherd girls, that the only thing they can offer is perhaps the most valuable, themselves, with hearts full of devotion.
Only through bhakti—yoga will you realize that we do not have to renounce because everything already belongs to The Lord... and even ourselves and whatever is ours... we are from Him...
The Krishna Bhakti will help to realize that the only renunciation is to detach ourselves from our confused material and exploitative consciousness, from our erroneous way of seeing everything and everyone as meant for our own egoistic enjoyment...
Without realizing The Supreme Lord, God, as the very center and the only Supreme Enjoyer, neither peace nor bliss will be possible, neither in the collective nor in the individual level...
It is to realize yourself as the enjoyed, as the eternal loving servant of Kṛṣṇa , only then your life will be sublime...
I wish that your attitude to this book will not be the one of a reader, but the one of a meditator, listen to it as you listen to a melody, relate to this story as you relate to a flower and its scent... let your journey through its pages be a meditation on Sri Krishna's divine pastimes... beyond the intellect, the mind, space and time...
