Warm—up exercises are aimed at preparing the body for Asana practice. These exercises elongate and release the muscles while, at the same time, help focus the attention at the breathing and the various body organs.



The warm—up exercises should be practiced with eyes shut (unless otherwise specified), with a lot of awareness to the body and without effort. During the practice the practitioner should breathe deeply and calmly solely through the nose. Allow breathing to dictate the pace of movement.
